Steven Beauchamp - sold a majority interest in LandMar Group inc., to Crescent Resources, Inc., a real estate subsidiary of Duke Energy. The sale allowed LandMar Group to become one of the dominant master-planned community developers in the state of Florida. The following is an excerpt of the news release. - A"Crescent Resources, Inc. and LandMar Group, Inc. have announced a new residential real estate venture. The LandMar Group name will be retained in the new venture and its founder, Edward E. (Ed) Burr, will continue to serve as President and CEO.
The venture will draw on the considerable strengths of each company to capitalize on the growth opportunities in Florida and the Southeast United States.
Crescent Resources is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Duke Energy, a global energy company with more than $26 billion in assets. The real estate development and land management company sold about $100 million.
